It's A Turquoise Christmas

Lovely homes and great decor!  By the time you arrive at
The Little Round Table
I hope you'll be ready to take a place at my table for
a nice lunch at this Turquoise, Shamrock and Scarlet filled table.
After lunch I'll show you what I've been up to with some other
holiday pizazz and bling.

I'm also joining Marty's weekly Tabletop Tuesday event over at
A Stroll Through Life, so stop back later for a glass of wine or cider.
You will need it!  This is a very long post  ...... but it is a very special
holiday with so much going on, I do hope you'll last until we cozy up
by the fire.

Both vintage and reissue Fiesta dinnerware is represented on this table.  Shamrock, Turquoise and White plates are reissue.  The center vase is Fiesta Turquoise from the 1939 World's Fair, where a working kiln produced souvenir pieces.  You can read more about that fair HERE.  The vintage Figure 8 tray in Turquoise holds two reissue ramekins, rather than the vintage cream/sugar set it usually holds.

The spiral candle holders are vintage Metlox, sterling is American Directoire, vintage green Depression Glass is paired with red tumblers from Home Goods.

Ivory Metlox spiral candle holders and some vintage items from Homer Laughlin.  The Ball Jug is vintage Harlequin.

Little white pitcher from Home Goods stands with vintage Homer Laughlin Turquoise creamer and gravy boat.

The excitement is building as we get closer to that special day,
before you go here is a peek at some of my Christmas decor.
You can click on the link or the image to check out the full details
or read to the end and then jump back up here.
I'm just overwhelmed with all the beauty across blogland during this festive
time of year.  Come sit by the fire with me and put your feet up.

Have the Happiest of Holidays!
Thanks for visiting, please stop back again anytime!

  9. Everything is so beautiful. I'm especially crazy over your kitchen displays. I'm a collector of the reissue Fiesta & do a lot of similar color combos to yours. I love that just about any combo works. Your tablecloth is perfect.

  12. My mom also has fiesta so I had to click on your post. I really, really like your tablecloth. Has it been in your family or did you find it at an antique store/flea market? I also really like the green depression glasses. I collect the little sherbet bowls. Kelly

  18. Absolutely beautiful. I am also a collector of Fiesta Ware. As far as I'm concerned, they are my everyday as well as my fine china. (Lowers voice to a whisper) I have a set of original nesting bowls, and I'm ashamed to admit that I keep them WAY UP HIGH. Someday, when I have a bigger kitchen, they will be front and center. I may even eat my cereal from them.

    Merry Christmas!

  24. Thank you all for your lovely comments! This tablecloth was an eBay find a couple years ago. As the story goes it was a souvenir brought home by the seller's mother in the 1950s or so from Italy. Vintage or not, it is always a favorite when I post it. :-)

Welcome to all you Fiesta collectors! And for those of you who don't have Fiesta ..... someday maybe you will be lucky enough to catch the Fiesta bug! LOL

  36. I want to replace my oblong table with a round one. What diameter is yours? It holds a four piece setting beautifully. Is it possible to squeeze 5 or 6 people for a casual setting?

    Thanks.

    Love all your settings.

  38. Thanks to all of you for your generous compliments! This is such a detour from the norm and I enjoy it every year when it comes out of hiding.

The Little Round Table is a 42" round glass top that I bought at Pier 1 decades ago! It sits atop a vintage wrought iron table base. It seats 4 very comforably, 5 if there are a couple of little people involved. :-) It really is the perfect size for most vintage square tablecloths, which were much smaller than today's linens.
