It's all about storage and I'm recycling this post from last year when I did a
major overhaul and cleanup of how all my dishes, accessories and linens were stored. I've tweaked it a little over the past few months, but basically it is still all working really well for me.
Here's the post from a few weeks ago about the tweaking:
It started with a post about my kitchen a few weeks ago on Show and Tell Friday
showing where my vintage Fiesta is now displayed. The vintage Fiesta was in
a glass front display closet in the pantry hall, but that's all changed and other
things are now on the move too.

And a corner cabinet that functions as a kind of transition solution,
when things are moving about. Part 2 Post
Then came the antique pine store fixture that holds a lot of
dinnerware and accessories in the Part 3 Post
Next I showed you the first of a pair of glass fronted closets that
are in the pantry hall that leads to the laundry room Part 4 Post
And the second closet was Part 5 Post
This week I'm sharing where I store my napkin rings, flatware and tablecloths. This
antique pine cabinet provides a great deal of storage space and makes it easy to
find what I'm looking for.

The majority of the napkin rings are in the repurposed canister boxes I bought
at IKEA years ago, with some of the overflow in the teak stacking boxesthat hold flatware.
Tablecloths that are used daily stacked on the shelves in no particular order.
This cabinet also became a little calmer with the addition of fabric on cafe rods.
Large and seasonal cloths are in this antique dresser.
Thanks for stopping by!

That is just amazing how easy you make it look to store those wonderful cloths. Do you iron them then put away or iron before going on the table? Love how you organized your napkins rings. Have I missed where you keep your napkins? Thanks for sharing your storage solutions with us.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have ever seen such an extensive collection of table linens. That dresser is gorgeous. My few things are in my chest in the foyer and in the buffet and sideboard in the dining room. I don't play with dishes that much. I do want a few more things, but I need shelves added in an extra closet I have.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a beautiful display of all your lovely linens. To have that many I would need a bigger house.
ReplyDeleteMy word! What a fabulous and extremely organized collection! Before I add anything more to any of my collections, I really have to think about it because I am running out of storage space. I downsized and have not quite acclimated to it yet.

I am always amazed to see where you store all of your dishes, and now your linens. You could have a store!
ReplyDeleteOh, my! Wow. What a collection. You sure have done a great job of organizing it all, too. I'm seriously impressed. Rosie
ReplyDeleteWOW your collection is just gorgeous and so happy!
ReplyDeleteThese are all so beautiful. You have a magnificent collection. Cheers, Lia
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone!
ReplyDeleteLinda - I posted about the napkins in Part 3 (the large pine store fixture). I keep them in plastic shoe boxes. They used to live in this cabinet with the tablecloths, but they tend to get all wrinkly and messy and never were easy to locate.
I iron the tablecloths right out of the dryer, lay them flat to dry (I steam them heavily), then fold them. I iron them again when I get ready to use them, but it is really just a quick touch up to clear the fold lines.
Again, thanks to all of you for loving my tablecloths as much as I do!
You have so much wall space for your cabinets, I'm envious!!
ReplyDeleteI captured a bit of the Irish Lore today in my SHOW N TELL. Do stop by for a wee bit o' the Irish Luck if you can!

OMG, you think like me but are wayyyy more organized. I've never seen so many tablecloths. I got those yellow rose napkin rings also at Pier 1. Where did you get your Nutcracker cloth?
ReplyDeleteHi Denise -
ReplyDeleteThe Nutcracker tablecloth was from an eBay Auction last holiday season! It's a beauty, probably not that old, but I just love it. :-)

Your storage ideas are always so colorful and bright - they actually add to the home decor. As always, I'm drooling over your linens collection. I show my husband your linens to remind him that there are indeed people out there who have more table linens than I do! Have a great weekend! -diane
