East Coast, West Coast All Around The Town

Welcome to Seasonal Sundays brought to you each week by The Tablescaper

East Coast, West Coast All Around The Town.
We're painting our tabletops red this week.

My dish buddy Daphne from Tabletop Time came up with the idea
to use our red Poinsettia vintage tablecloths today for Seasonal Sundays.

From San Francisco at The Little Round Table

And from Boston over at Tabletop Time it's

The Little Round Table Red Stripe Fiesta

Vintage California Hand Prints Red Poinsettia tablecloth with metallic gold accents. A combination of vintage Red Stripe Fiesta and the new Red Stripe pieces produced for the Homer Laughlin Collectors Association by Homer Laughlin China Company.  The dinner plates, disc pitcher and vase are new pieces, the remaining striped items are vintage.  Decorative salad plates and hobnail tumblers from Home Goods, goblets and candle holder from Pier 1, flatware and napkin rings purchased on the internet.

An alternative using different accessories with the same Red Stripe dinnerware. Decorative salad plates, cutwork bowl and votives from Home Goods, crystal stemware is from Vera Wang, "Infinity." Flatware came from Macy's twenty years ago! The napkins were ordered from battenburglace.com for $24 per dozen. The handled cream soup bowls are from my service for twelve of vintage Haviland pattern #60424.

Thanks so very much for coming to visit The Little Round Table all decked out in red.  Be sure to stop by and visit with Daphne over at Tabletop Time too!

  1. Another beauty! Love the red stripe pieces and the twisted flatware. You have a wealth of lovely table top items. I look forward to the "east" coast version. LOL

  5. I love both renditions. I just can't decide which one is my favorite. I cannot believe 24 crochet edged napkins for that price! Your Haviland and the pierced edge salads are so elegant together. I was love how the red/black and gold look so festive and Christmas.

  7. Hello Candy!

Your California poinesttias X2 are fantastic! I love seeing the very retro stylings of red stripe followed by the classic elegance of Europe! Thanks for being a great partner in a bi-coastal painting of the holidays red!

  8. Wow! I love both!!! I never would have thought to use that wood twist flatware, but it really takes on a gold hue. I have the same flatware but mine is a darker color wood look. Love the glasses - in both. The red nob is spectaculare - such texture and the clear goblets (is that etching or white paint?) are beautiful. Thank you for making your tables a part of Seasonal Sundays!

  10. Good evening everyone!

This was a fun post to put together with Daphne!

Those glasses are etched and came from Pier 1 just a couple months ago. They still had them when I was there last week, should you care to run out for a few! LOL

Rebecca, thank you that's very sweet! I do hope you will be done with your studies and be able to join your fellow Tablecloth Divas for the next challenge. I do believe we might treat all of you to a "Snowy Village" from coast to coast very soon!

  11. I love this table setting. The striped pieces are wonderful. I had no idea Fiestaware had striped pieces, but then I'm a fairly recent collector.

  12. Hi Pattie -

The vintage striped pieces are hard to come by and fetch hefty price tags. You can purchase the new Fiesta striped pieces done on Ivory if you are a member of HLCCA (Homer Laughlin Collectors Association). There's a link down near the bottom of the sidebar where you can read more about this group for collectors of all things Homer.
