I'm having a Tea Party today!
Others are having tea today too!
with our hostess from Plumed Pen
I'm also linking up to A Few Of My Favorite Things for
Favorite Things Friday
Early mornings are still quite chilly, so tea in the office works well with
some fresh air and sunshine from the entryway.

Early mornings are still quite chilly, so tea in the office works well with

The little canister holds extra tea packets and has an airtight seal.
The little sugar tray is vintage Homer Laughlin, while the little faux
Homer Laughlin Riviera tray is a reproduction from China Specialties, Inc.
Fresh lemon slices from our Lemon tree.
Would you like cookies with your tea?
The Hellebores are from my garden and the little
copper bud vase was my mom's.
My grandmother's favorite tea cup. I just love the little gold feet.
The little embellished tea spoon is from Washington, D.C. and
was my mother-in-law's.
Time for anther cup of tea by mid-morning when it's nice to sit outside.
Green is popping up everywhere in the garden and by way of some
green spray paint that I used to spruce up this outdoor tea cart.
The tea cart is destined for another use in the garden, where it
becomes a rolling cart for a succulent preemie nursery each Spring.
More on that for a Saturday Night Special post later this week.
What a beautiful tea set. You always have such darling items that you post!!

Your Grandmother's cup with the feet is just charming. I too shared a cup belonging to my husband's grandmother and it is so nice that we are using them to remember them by.
ReplyDeleteHi Candy...
ReplyDeleteOhhh my...what a beautiful tea tray you have made for us! My friend, I love the tray! Was wondering if you made it? It's gorgeous and that shade of green is one of my favorites! And...I love, love, LOVE that pretty tea cart...sooo pretty! Your patio is really beautiful with all that sunshine...I would love to have a cup of tea there! Such a beautiful and relaxing space!
Now...I must say that your teapot is just one of the prettiest that I've seen! I do love white teapots and the embellished design on the front is really beautiful! Ohhh...and I am just green with envy over your beautiful tea canister with that pretty crown on it! I love that piece! I think it's just precious to have tea from your grandmother's favorite tea cup...so sweet! I totally agree...those pretty little gold feet just stole my heart away! Well my friend, thank you so much for sharing your fabulous tea with us today...this was such a treat!!!

Thanks ladies, I do so appreciate you stopping by for a cup of tea and a chat!
ReplyDeleteI didn't make the tray, but I did give it a coat of green spray paint! I've had it for years and it never really did much for me with it's muddy brown faux wood frame. So I recently went at it with the spray paint, cheap little brass handles and all. Very lightly sanded it when it was dry and it's actually something I will use now. It was one of those $5 clearance things years ago.
I just wrote about the cart on another post....it came from Pier 1 at the end of summer about 15 years ago for $20 and has served many purposes over the intervening years. I love it!

My oh my dear Candy!~ I am utterly taken, delighted and thrilled with your fabulous tea tray and oh so inviting afternoon tea vignette my friend!
ReplyDeleteEverything from the tea trolley to the exceptionally chic choice of that fabulous tea cannister, teapot and that fabulously elegant tea cup!~ I am so thoroughly, and delightfully impressed and tickled!..,
Where did you ever get those three items?
I so love, love, love and adore your exceptional tablescape teatime vignette!~ Simply superb and masterfully created, yet with a warmly lighthearted touch of 'elan' and Parisian cache!
Please do join me next week as well! I would be delighted to have you partake!..,
(Although I was super busy with company and cleanup after renovations); yet I simply had to come by and thank you most sincerely and properly for the joyfull taking part with my 22nd, Tuesday Tea For Two, dear lady; which of course is also my absolute pleasure!!~ I was so delighted to have you take part my dear!
