Stratoware by Eva Zeisel

Thursday is time for Vintage Thingies Thursday
over at Coloradolady
Dig in those closets and attics and show us your stuff!

Stratoware was a line of dinnerware created by Eva Zeisel
for Sears during 1941-1942.  It is a limited line and very
difficult to find, although a lot of the covered casseroles
seem to show up.

Here are a couple of ads from vintage Sears catalogs
showing some of the pieces in the line.

One of my ads was included in the catalog for an Eva Zeisel exhibition
at the Knoxville Museum of Art back in 2004.

Not all the pieces in the following image are Stratoware.  The four mugs
are vintage Fiesta ring handled mugs with an ivory exterior and an
alternate interior glaze.  These are generally seen with advertising
promotions for various companies.

  4. It's better in your REAL LIFE photos than in the ad photos! Sometimes ads are better than life, but not in THIS case.

    I really like it.

  23. Well, I'm so glad you all enjoyed seeing some of Eva's best work (IMHO). But, I'm wondering if I did the right thing....now everyone will be looking for it! LOL

These pieces very seldom come up on eBay and I've never seen any in the wild in 12+ years of searching! Let me know if you do find any!
