The Ice Cream Parlor

Do you remember ice cream parlors that were more like a tea room?
A distinct smell of chilled air, sugary sweetness and an overwhelming
sense of "clean." Uusally a lovely color scheme of black and white flooring
with ice cream parlor chairs and tables, but sometimes that look of a large
bowl of sherbet in all the wonderful colors of one of my favorite treats.

Usually a good place for a BLT or a Club sandwich followed by a
sundae or a favorite flavor on a waffle cone.

When I first saw this vintage tablecloth, those long forgotten memories
and aromas are what came to mind.  So here is a tribute to those old
timey ice cream parlors, where life seemed so simple.

The cloth features Post 86 Fiesta in Rose, Lemongrass, and Turquoise, with a reissue Harlequin
bowl to top it off.  Looks like a pottery sundae all on its own!  The cups and saucers. the creamer and the round platter in the center are reissue Harlequin.

The small "three coned" flower vase is vintage and is some kind of early plastic.
The vintage straw dispenser is a favorite of mine and my grandchildren love how
it dispenses a single straw perfectly each time.

The flatware and little sugar bowl are from Home Goods, glassware from Pier 1, napkin
rings from Bed Bath Beyond, votive holder from Michael's and the napkins came
from Crate and Barrel years ago.
