I CAN Do Neutrals Too!

If you've spent any time at all here on The Little Round Table,

you know I thrive on lots and lots of COLOR!!  But, I can do neutrals too!

So here is my take on how to work with Fiesta and other neutrals.

It took lots of effort on my part to keep it neutral and not bring

in just a drop of bright colors!

The base is a vintage tablecloth from Leacock Prints, topped with

Made In China white chargers and Post 86 Fiesta in Ivory, Chocolate and Pearl Grey.

The crystal is Vera Wang's "Infinity", flatware is vintage Dansk with rosewood handles,

napkins came from Crate and Barrels in the 80s, napkin rings from Pier 1 this past

winter, and the covered onion soup bowls are from Wisteria.

And this is NOT the finished product, just the beginning of some really easy and

very tasty onion rings!  I've posted my favorite onion soup recipe here before and

this is just another way to use these great bowls.  Dipping sauces can be served 

in small berry bowls at each place setting.

Cut the largest diameter onion you can handle into VERY THIN slices.
Separate the individual rings.
I use ver HOT Crisco shortening to fry the rings.
I like these very thin and done in batches until quite crispy.
Allow excess batter to drip off before putting in the oil.
I put them in by the small handful so that they come out looking
like a small bird's nest and then place in the onion soup bowls.
If they are cut too thick, they won't cook properly and the batter will be gummy.
