I'm joining everyone over at A Southern Daydreamer for another Outdoor Wednesday.
Some of the quail that visit the garden several times a day.
Warming themselves in the early morning sun.
A bit of breakfast.
They are very messy as they look for the prime tidbits.
They then go on their way, but will be back for brunch, lunch and dinner.
Thanks for coming by again this week, hope to see you again soon.

ReplyDeleteI just love your photos. Just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWell, now we know why they have to eat outside. Being pretty is no excuse for bad manners!

This post is just delightful!
ReplyDeletethose quail are sooo cute. There is a dessert exhibit at the zoo here with some that scurry around. That's so fun that they stop by your garden.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, providing food for the quail to snack on is certainly a delightful way for you to spend time watching them eat.

They are so cute! Birds are definitely messy creatures! Years ago I used to have some gorgeous white canaries and they made such a mess. They sure made up for it with their beautiful songs though.

These come to your yard? To the feeder? How wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI have not seen quail in a long time. How beautiful they are! Your blog is lovely...my first visit. I envy your collection of Fiesta Ware. I love the colors and the simplicity of these dishes. I have just a couple of vintage pieces I was able to save from my mother's purge of her MIL's dishes. (I was very young...and only pulled the pieces I really loved. Boy, I wish I knew then...)
ReplyDeleteI do have my eye on some new pieces...in blue and orange.

Quail are so comical and eternally entertaining. Their antics make me smile, if not laugh every day. There are probably close to 100 that are in the garden on a daily basis, chortling and chirping their way around the garden with their broods of chicks from 2" tall to young juveniles born earlier this summer.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for stopping by.

Love it..love the action shot of the seeds going all over. lol
ReplyDeleteIsn't that a cute shot? The quail waste more than they eat with all that scratching!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
