Cloche To My Heart

"Cloche" to my heart are the fresh flowers from my garden.

Thanks to our hostess Marty for another wonderful event.

Fresh cut flowers will stay fresher and last longer if situated in a cloche.
Our humidity here in Northern California is very low, so fresh flowers tend
to fade quickly in the vase.  Not with a cloche to surround them!

Day 3

Day 6

The Brugmansia - Angel Trumpet 'Charles Grimaldi' is a beautiful extremely
aromatic flower in the garden.  Very difficult to use in an arrangement because
of their pendulous nature and they wilt quickly.

This cloche enclosed Brug lasted three days.

The Anemones have started to bloom in my garden and will go strong until Thanksgiving.

Thanks for coming by for the Fall Cloche Party!
Hope to see you again soon.

  13. Beautiful presentation! My angel trumpet froze this past winter and didn't come back. When I was out on my neighborhood walk this morning I noticed one simply covered with beautiful white "trumpets." I may knock on thier door and ask for some of the seed pods. Have you ever grown this plant from seeds? Do your's reseed to other areas of your garden?

  15. Thanks so much for your lovely comments on my posies!

Sarah - It's much colder here than at the old house we left 4 years ago. My Brugs thrived there, but here it is hit or miss depending on how cold the winter is. Last winter they all froze to the ground, but most came back. The problem with that is they never really catch up again. I did grow some from seeds at the old house ..... not worth it in my opinion. Takes a couple of years, when you can grab one from the nursery for a few dollars (unless you are looking for a new hybrid). Beautiful plants, but they don't like the cold here. :(
