Cat Tails and Polka Dots

It's time once again for Tabletop Tuesday over at A Stroll Through Life with our hostess Marty!
Come join the fun with a tabletop vignette!

Join in the 3rd Annual Nesting Party over at The Inspired Room

This vintage California Hand Prints tablecloth is highlighting things in my late summer
garden.  The cat tails are reseeding themselves with abandon and the perennial ornamental
grasses are at their finest.

Homer Laughlin's newest color of Post 86 Fiesta in Paprika, along with some Post 86 Ivory bowls top the decorative polka dot dinner plates from Home Goods. The square salad plates are also Post 86 Ivory in the recently released "Square" Fiesta. The polka dot napkins are from Pier 1, the
flatware is 'Cityscape'.  If I remember correctly the glassware also came from Home Goods, votives from Michael's.  The covered casserole and bud vase in Ivory are vintage pieces.

If the napkins add too many polka dots for your taste, here's an alternative
napkin with dragon fly napkin ring.

Thanks for coming by for another Tabletop Tuesday.
Please stop back later this week for Tablescape Thursday and my
tablescape called "The White Clematis."

  3. Again, you do have some of the most wonderful dishes in the whole world. I love these with the dots around the edge. I havn't ever seen anything like them, they are so pretty and so unique. The grass is such a perfect centerpiece. Of course your tablecloth is to die for. You really do set the most stunning tables. Thanks so much for linking to TTT. Hugs, Marty

Where did the summer go???? This is feeling a little like Fall, but we're no where near to Fall here in California! Hit 100F today and things are getting a bit crispy in the garden.

Stop back again soon .... more tablescapes to come with a summer time feel to them.

  13. Morning Daphne -

I need to go back to bed! I've been on racoon patrol since about 3AM ... they are rummaging in everything and knocking over stuff! I see some traps in their future!

Tracy - sorry I missed your question about the green table. That is one piece I didn't paint. :-) It came from Horchow if I remember correctly about 20 years ago. I did use milk paint to do a small side-table that closely matches it. The trick is to do an undercoat of a dull red milk paint and then the green and then a bit of light distressing. The piece on top with the little drawers did not come with the green table, it was a purchase from one of the high end Macy's Home Stores that sadly didn't make it here in California.
