The Bakery

I'm joining Susan's weekly party Tablescape Thursday over at Between Naps On The Porch.
Show off your latest Fall or Thanksgiving tablescape and gather all kinds of inspiration.
and please stop over at
Color Outside The Lines for Artie's weekly Vignette Fridays
and
A Few of My Favorite Things over at Bargain Hunting
These are just a few of my favorite things -
dishes and tablecloths and more dishes
flatware and glassware
my kitchen
the color red and mushrooms and bread!

Today's vintage tablecloth is all about the goodness of bread and how it sustains us.
Bread is truly the staff of life and in my mind it's a major food group. :-)
There is nothing more comforting than a slice of freshly baked bread.

Contemporary Homer Laughlin "Betty Bowl" from the now defunct Betty Crocker catalog is a
reissue of the vintage Betty Bowl made by several companies for Betty Crocker as a premium
giveaway.   The  vintage version has appeared in prior tablescpaes, Geometric Spring and

My favorite mushrooms Amanita muscaria have appeared in a couple of previous tablescapes:

Dinnerware - Post 86 Fiesta in Scarlet, Black, White
Checkered Plates - Diner dinnerware also from Homer Laughlin
Flatware - Cambridge
Glassware - polka dots from Target, faux cut crystal fro Pier 1
Napkins - Tuesday Morning
Napkin Rings - Cost Plus World Market

Thanks so much for coming by again this week for another tablescape here on TLRT!

  14. The shocks of wheat are so perfect and effective for a table all about homemade bread. The red is eye-catching, and since red is known to increase appetites, I think that you'd better bake a couple of extra loaves of that bread and have plenty of softened butter on hand! Thank you for sharing your lovely design. Cherry Kay

  17. Hi Candy,
the size of your kitchen and the amount of wonderful cupboards with Fiestaware amazes me. Your kitchen is really a beautiful stage for tablescaping. I love your bread theme on the table. Look cheerful and neat. Love the ears in the napkin ring and the Amanita in the basket. The matching flatware look so nice with the plates. And the tablecloth is perfect for Thankgiving, too. I enjoyed my visit very much. Have a good time.
    Greetings, Johanna

  19. Am I the only person that can get weepy eyed over a tablescape. This table reminds me so much of being home with my grandparents. She didn't have red, but she had fiesta and glasses so similar....it is gorgeous, as is your kitchen!!

  23. I'm so pleased you all enjoyed this tablescape! It is one of my favorites .... but I say that about all my pretties. :-)

Ceekay - I get weepy too .... I think it's the memories that come from life's experiences more than the actual things. Yep, this could be at my Grandma's house, with all the cousins gathered around fighting over who gets the first waffle!

More tables coming up this week .... an unusual color combo for a cornucopia, a "fowl" table, and a more traditional fall colorway with a California twist the week of Thanksgiving. Please stop back and say hello!
