Happy May Day

I'm joining Chari over at Happy To Design for Sunday Favorites
with a May Day post from 2010


Happy May Day to everyone!
Here's hoping you find something pretty hanging from your front door for May Day.

A metal container with a hanger holds a full bouquet
for a special friend.







Some of my favorite yellow roses fill a folded dinner napkin embellished with ribbons.




Two simple pink rosebuds are nestled in this one, which has a draw string
closure and hanging ribbon.




The roses are from my garden which is exploding with the first flush of blooms.

Pick your favorite and take time to stop and smell the roses.

Happy May Day!

    Your May Day baskets are wonderful! My Garden Club will be doing a MD basket exchange this week. I especially love the folded napkin...how creative.

    I especially love the first antique looking metal container with the beautiful roses ... and happy May Day to you, too. When I was a girl, we'd make construction paper baskets, fill them with dandelions, hang them on the neighbors' doorknobs, ring their doorbells and hide behind a tree to watch them receive their May Day baskets. Such fun!

    They are all just popping in my garden....way too many to pick and it's time to deadhead them! I just LOVE my roses.

    Lily of the Valley ..... now there's something I also love, but it is so hot here they never really get established. I would love to see some pictures of your bouqhet!

    Your May baskets are just gorgeous - - - both the flowers AND the door baskets.

    I REMEMBER the fun of making May baskets, hanging them on door knobs, then hiding. Do people still do that today? I haven't had a May basket, nor given one for that matter, in YEARS!
