The Story of Peter Rabbit

I'm joining Vintage Inspiration Friday over at Common Ground with
some vintage Easter things.

Here are Peter Rabbit with his Mom and sisters.
You can read more about my story book dolls on a

Homer Laughlin children's set

This is a story book about Peter Rabbit that was mine as a child.
It has a copyright of 1940 by the Whitman Publishing Co., Racine, Wis.
It was illustrated by Ruth E. Newton, who was an American
illustrator and doll designer.  She was born March 6, 1884 and died May 27, 1972.

Happy Easter to you all!

  18. Thanks for stopping by to read this story with me!
I think it is a story we all remember from our childhood. Did you happen to notice that in this version Peter has 2 sisters and a brother?

In the original Beatrix Potter version all the siblings were sisters! And did you know that in the original BP version and subsequent stories about these rabbits, Peter's mother was Mrs. Josephine Rabbit, his cousin and father were both named Benjamin Bunny, although his father later became Benjamin Bouncer.

    Happy Rabbit Day everyone!
