Season of Color

Join everyone over at Color Outside The Lines for this week's edition of

Welcome to another edition of Tablescape Thursday brought to you by Susan over at

I'd like to wish all of you the most joyous of Thanksgivings.

Happy Turkey Day!

A casual Thanksgiving Day table for all the outdoorsey members of the family.  The hunters, the joggers, the four wheelers, and those just ready to interact with family and friends without a lot of pomp.  This table is all about the food and friendship.

Vintage and Post 86 Fiesta mix together as members of the same family, bringing together both old colors and the new. Sapphire, Paprika, Antique Gold, Vintage Yellow, Turf Green, Amberstone, Lilac, and a few pieces of the relatives that are rarely seen.  The Raspberry branch of the family.

Goblets from Pier 1, Hobnail glassware from Home Goods, flatware from Macy's.

The tablecloth and napkins have an Egyptian/Deco motif with lots of geese and
Papyrus in the design.

One of two vintage items from Homer Laughlin China with turkey decals.

Raspberry Fiesta candle holders.

The wooden candle tray was originally used to mold sugar.

Amberstone Marmalade and Lilac mini Disc Pitcher sit on a Turf Green
small platter/sauce boat undertray.

Raspberry Salt and Pepper Shakers

Raspberry bowl, the same as the base of the casserole or large mixing bowl from a set. The mixing bowl set is different than the more recently released "baking" bowl sets.

Disc pitchers in Vintage Yellow, Sapphire and Amberstone

Sapphire Salt and Pepper shakers

Antique Gold covered Marmalade

Lilac candle holders

The second of the vintage HLC turkey items is a decorated vintage Ivory Fiesta dinner plate.

  15. I have never participated before, and don't even know if this comment will make its way to you. But, I had to write after viewing your table. About fifty years ago, as a small child at a small country fair, I tossed a nickel and it landed on one of the larger prizes, a platter with a turkey design in the center. What a wonderful surprise to view your table and see your vintage pieces with the very same turkey.
Next week I will use my platter for our Thanksgiving turkey, just as it has been used each year since that wonderful WIN. Thank you for refreshing what is a great childhood memory. Wishing you a Blessed Thanksgiving.

  25. Turkey Day is approaching quickly and I think this may turn out to be a favorite from recent years. I love the mix of colors that reflect all of Mother Nature's colors of the season.

Thanks so much for coming by and I hope you'll stop back for a couple more Fall tablescapes before Christmas hits TLRT!

And a few of you did notice that it is on an alternate table ..... life is not always "round". LOL

Anonymous - I do hope you'll join us again, so nice to have you stop by and share your story. That turkey decal, like so many of the vintage decals, was sold to many potteries by an outside company. So it appears on a variety of vintage dinnerware not just Homer Laughlin China. Just love it because he is so plump and feathery ..... just like a turkey should be.

Hope to see you all again very soon!
