Mexiscape

Last week I shared my tablescape and article entitled A 75th Anniversary Buffet.  In the same issue of The Dish, published by the Homer Laughlin China Collectors Association, was a wonderful article by my dish buddy

Many collectors participated in this celebration of Southwest and Mexican themed tables. Such a wide variety of interpretations and great dishes!  Elaine will be expanding on this celebration in future issues, so the party will go on and on! Thanks Elaine for such a great party!

This was my contribution to the Mexiscapes.

Vintage tablecloth - unknown maker
Place settings are a mix of Post 86 Fiesta and vintage Fiesta
Woven chargers, goblets - Pier 1
Blue tumblers - anthropologie.com
Flatware, napkins - Home Goods
Napkin rings - eBay
Vintage items include Turquoise 1939 World's Fair vase on the table
Vintage Fiesta and Mexicana on the sideboard
Mexican themed items from my collection

  3. You made me think about all the local clay products available at the craft market. They would surely make for a lovely tablescape! I do not own, though, the beautiful china you do! ...I could try though (never come up with a tablescape before!...I'm learning as I travel your blog) to come up with something with my late grandma's china collection from around the world (my uncle used to bring some to her from his multiple trips), and although it not as wide as yours, the challenge should be fun. Will let you know! :o)
    have a lovely day!

  23. Thanks everyone for coming by to check out this week's tablescape!

Vanessa - check around for one of the "strings" of hanging Mexican pots and grab some votives. Then you'll have your own candleholders. :-)

Becca - Thanks for coming by to add your 'scape!

I think credit needs to go to Elaine for coining the term "Mexiscape" as we all exchanged emails to get our images in for her article. Thanks E!

Artie - Good to see you again, I did stop by to see your latest creation! So gorgeous with all the turquoisey blue. Beautiful!

See you all soon I hope,
