The kitchen is the heart of most homes and I am pleased to share some additional images of my kitchen with you. Normally my kitchen appears several times each week as the backdrop for tablescapes, but this time I'm sharing some of the details that make up that backdrop. Each element in my kitchen has its own story, a mix of vintage and new that is constantly evolving.
Read about building the house/kitchen in 2006 in the following post:
The Evolution of My Kitchen
Lots of info and details on the kitchen are included in the comment section of the Evolution post.
The Evolution of My Kitchen
Lots of info and details on the kitchen are included in the comment section of the Evolution post.
Some of the basics:
15 ½ foot ceilings
3 colors of paint on the walls
solid pine flooring
Alder cabinets
the faux stone mantel is cast concrete
Most of my dishes are stored in the pantry hall that backs up to the wall on the left
You can read about some of my storage solutions at the following link:
And my favorite element in my kitchen is the year round California sunshine. The influence
of this natural light changes the mood and colors in the kitchen throughout each day.
Thank you for coming to see my kitchen! Please feel free to ask me questions about the kitchen in the comments section, I love to talk dishes and tablescapes and my favorite room in my house.

WOW...Mega Ditto what Christie said, "You have one of my favorite kitchens in the whole world...blogland, magazines, TV...the whole world!"
ReplyDeleteYours is the kitchen we cut out for our inspiration books, truly. It is outstanding & I can't imagine the fun of preparing a loving meal in such a marvelous space.
I didn't get to participate in the party...too sick with an attack of diverticulitis plus my PC picked up a virus & was out of commission for awhile. I'm still not sure its fixed totally.
:*-(
What a miserable week but visiting your beautiful home has brightened it considerably. Thanks for allowing us a peek inside.
Oh my, I'm overwhelmed with all your compliments on my kitchen! I do really love it and after 4 years here, I really wouldn't change anything that I chose for it. :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, Sheila I did do the stenciling. My original plan was to make them less than perfect and then sand them to make them look weathered and old. I ended up leaving them just the way they were when painted. The colors look different from stencil to stencil because the walls are all different colors.
NookCrannyGifts - the dishes in the cabinets are vintage Fiesta, the pottery hanging on the walls is Italian and Mexican.
Rettabug, hope you are feeling better ..... here's hoping there will be another Kitchen Party in the future, such a fun idea.
Candy
Wow! I had to remind myself to breathe again! What a gorgeous kitchen!!! It took my breath away!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Sunday!
You have a magnificent kitchen. I've seen it in your posts before, but certainly never tire of it. Love the height.
