Silver Sunday: Family Tea Set

Welcome to another Silver Sunday over at Gypsy Fish Journal
Be sure to check back next week for another Silver Sunday, which will be
held on the second Sunday of each month going forward.

Not "true" silver, but a very nice pewter tea set nonetheless.
It belonged to my in-laws who were married during the Great Depression
and this was a nice substitution for a "real" silver tea set.

The tray is quite warped ....... I think it ended up in my
father-in-law's workshop after Ida passed.
what was he thinking?   I think it just gives it more
character and enhances the history of this set engraved with an
"F" for the family name.

  17. Silver, pewter, copper, brass, . . . I tend to think all the metals each have thier own special appeal. Aren't you the lucky one to have this set from your in-laws. The monogram is lovely! Happy Silver Sunday!

  20. Thanks everyone! I have loved this weekly Silver Sunday event and am so happy that it will continue on a monthly basis!

I have more of my in-laws pewter in storage.....must get it out and display it again soon. It's like Christmas all over again, when I pull things out that have been put away for a few years.

See you all on Sunday I hope!
