I'll Be On Cloud Nine, If You'll Be My Valentine
These are three of the vintage Hummels circa 1950 from my collection.
"The Postman" has a special Valentine just for you!
"The Adoration"
common along country roads
"Stormy Weather"
so appropriate for the monsoon rains we've had for the last few weeks

Beautiful Hummels! I always wondered if you had of these from your time in Germany. I don't think I've ever seen the Adoration scene before...so evocative of the countryside!
ReplyDeleteOMG! I just love your little mailman delivering that Valentine. Boy Germany knew/knows how to make beautiful items. I love my German made Valentines. I love your blog.
ReplyDeleteOh sweet hummels! Love the umbrella one of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteThose are such cute figurines. They look perfect in the cloches.
ReplyDeleteThat ribbon is precious!!!
ReplyDeletem ^..^
You have the classic Hummels that I love. My in-laws had a flower shop in downtown San Francisco for 40 years and sold Hummels too. My favorites were always the little postman and the couple under the umbrella!
ReplyDeleteDarling hummel cloches! But I have to say, that little mailboy is just cavity killer sweet!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Tina
I just love Hummels. I have a collection, but I didn't think of taking a photo shoot for my blog
ReplyDeleteThanks for the idea. I wish I had a valentine Hummel.
So sweet, especially the postman.
ReplyDeleteThose are adorable! You would love the shop I got my little sugar bowl at. They have cases full of old Hummels!
ReplyDeleteI just love your Hummel collection! That postman is adorable! I think my grandma had the two little girls under the umbrella too. My dad has it now. This really brings back memories!

ReplyDeleteThank you all for your wonderful comments! My little Hummel children thank you too! They are so sweet and finely made with the soft colors of the originals. Brings back lots of memories from my childhood.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to display a hummel... my mother has so many, some small, some very large, and others that are even bigger.. gosh knows how many she has.. My mother is German so you can imagine how many she has.. my Oma and my mother were Hummel fanatics.. Maybe one day I'll have them in my home.. One can only hope.. How creative with the feathers around the postman.. Thank you for the memories..
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of putting the Hummels in your cloches! Just such a nice way to display them. They are are beautiful...love the little postman! Happy Valentine's Day!!
