The Rose Circus

Thursday always means a great get together over at Between Naps On The Porch.
It's time for Tablescape Thursday, come join the fun!

This vintage tablecloth always reminds me of a circus tent and with its pink roses I think
of it as "The Rose Circus".  I've used Post 86 Fiesta in Shamrock, Rose, White and Sunflower
paired with vintage depression glassware and vintage Deauville flatware.  The candlesticks are vintage Metlox, the carafe holding roses from my garden in Kenilworth from Homer Laughlin China.  The handpainted rose design on the carafe seems to fit right in with the tablecloth design.
The Antique Gold salad bowl is vintage Ironstone Fiesta. Napkins came from Home Goods.

Happy Tablescape Thursday!

  9. This table is so attractive, as always. I am wondering what the vintage green glasses were intended to be originally. Were they drinking glasses or for parfaits? Thank you for these pretty tables. Linda

  11. Thanks to all of you for coming by to see my latest tablescape! And for your lovely comments, I do appreciate them.

I just love this tablecloth, but then I pretty much like any vintage cloth with stripes. If you look back at the tablecloths seen here on TLRT you will spot a lot of stripes ..... and grids ..... and lattice motifs. There is something I find so appealing about the geometrics mixed with sweet florals like this one with the roses. Check out the Tablecloth Database linked on the sidebar if you want a real visual of most of the tablecloths seen here on TLRT over the past 11 months. :-)

  21. Everything looks just perfect on your table, and I love... LOVE the tablecloth!! I also think that vase for the centerpiece is beautiful.

Since I'm new here, I am also admiring the green finish on the piece behind the table. Did you do that yourself?

  22. Thanks to all of you for coming to the circus!!

Wouldn't this pattern make the perfect little girl's room ..... although I remember doing my daughter's room in a frilly 4 poster white organdy with pink and yellow butterflies and she really would have preferred something else! LOL

Debbie - I didn't do that green table (the piece on top with all the little drawers is seperate and was not original to the table). It came from one of the high end catalogs about 20 years ago.

Hope to see you all again soon!

  25. LOL Janet - So true that some of those 80s pastels get badmouthed by many of us .... they just need the right setting to look their best!

Thank you all for coming by .... I just love this tablecloth!

Stop back this Wed eve to see Periwinkle (aka Peristinkle) shine on another tablescape. Like I said, it just needs the right setting to stand up to all the new brights and jewel tones. :-)
