Atomic 50s

A new tablecloth I made this weekend with reproduction "Atomic" print fabric I found on eBay.
Not included in the original images of this tablescape, but an additional image that I took based on a discussion which occurred on Facebook.  These are the Casino Chips pieces of Kenilworth in my collection.  They were a special order by an HLC customer.

Cornucopia For A Summer Day

Although this post has been scheduled for over a week, this tablescape seems particularly
appropriate for "Fall" today in Northern California. We're back in summer mode for
a few days at least, with last night's temperatures never dropping below 70F. Although
fire season is officially over for this year, this is the kind of weather with high winds and
unseasonably warm temperatures that often produces horrendous fires.

In modern depictions, the cornucopia is typically a hollow, horn-shaped wicker basket filled with various kinds of festive fruit and vegetables. In North America the cornucopia has come to be associated with Thanksgiving and the harvest.

A vintage tablecloth adorned with cornucopias in uncharacteristic summer colors
overflowing with flowers seems perfect for an 80F November day.

Post 86 Fiesta in Seamist and Rose, with Fiestaware2000 Juniper dinner plates and vintage Fiesta Turquoise bowls. Glassware from Pier 1, flatware is Deauville, napkins from Home Goods and the napkin rings are sterling from eBay.

The candle holders and presentation bowl are vintage Abingdon pottery in a shell pattern.

Vintage Homer Laughlin milk pitcher hand decorated with gold.

Ceramic pumpkins came from Home Goods in 2009

Vintage "Betty Bowl" produced for General Mills by several different companies, including Homer Laughlin.  Shown below in its original shipping carton.

And a page from the now defunct Betty Crocker catalog announcing the reintroduction of the
"Betty Bowl."

The vintage "Jubilee Juice Set" in Celedon Green, Shell Pink, Mist Gray, and Cream Beige.
The Fiesta Juice Set was always a promotional item and this special set of glazes was
produced in association with the release of the Jubilee line of dinnerware by Homer
Laughlin for the 75th Anniversary of the company in 1948.

Several pieces of Kenilworth, yet another line from Homer Laughlin, are also shown in this tablescape.  It was very limited in the pieces offered and came in Epicure White, Pink, Turquoise, Black and a few Yellow items, plus the highly sought after decaled line with images of Casino Chips produced for a special client by Homer Laughlin. Click on the image below to see more of the Casino Chip tablescape here on TLRT.

Thanks so much for stopping by again this week, hope to see you again soon.
