Vintage Ball Jug (Service Water Pitcher) and Novelty Creamer below.

I found this set of Reissue Harlequin about 20 years ago in it's original box,
which sadly was infested with little tiny bugs.  The box never made it into the
house, but the dishes have been used and loved.  The glassware is vintage.

The wooden napkin rings came from Pier 1 a long time ago.

Saturday Rerun: Artichokes and Candlelight

On some weekends I'll be reposting some tablescapes from last summer.
Hopefully more visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy them on this second time around.

Artichokes either steamed or stuffed require lots of butter and of course candlelight to diffuse all the dribbling and tugging of leaves until you reach the prize of the heart. Yummy.

This is a contemporary French tablecloth and napkins that feature the best tasting thistle around.

Silver chargers and candlesticks from Tuesday Morning, salad plates from Home Goods, vintage glassware, contemporary Fiesta dinner plates in Ivory, vintage Homer Laughlin covered muffin plate, sterling is American Directoire.

The napkin rings are handmade ceramic made in Texas.

The little piggy butter dish is Italian and came from Horchow decades ago.

More Green Paint In The Garden

I'm joining all the crafty types over at Funky Junk Interiors
for this week's installment of Saturday Night Special ......
and it's all about more GREEN PAINT in the garden!

About seven years ago a whole boatload of these infant bath tubs
came in from some Eastern Block country......along with some other
goodies that I'll show you some other time.  My daughter and I each
bought one at the SF Garden Show that year and transported them,
along with a baby, a stroller, plants, and some other large unwieldy
items home in a Cherokee.  It was an adventure akin to the Beverly
Hillbillies on the road!

If you've been following my posts for SNS the past couple of
weeks, you've seen me playing with paint in the garden.  I'm
done with the whole rusty look and now whatever isn't moving
is going GREEN!

Because the tub sits at an angle in the frame AND has a built in
drain (the pipe at the front), there is no need to drill drainage
holes in the tub.  And in a pinch you could empty out the
plantings and even bathe a baby!

Here it is in a former life back in 2004 with sun flowers and giant
beets in the back.  The chartreuse sweet potato vine eventually
covered a good portion of the patio as it trailed down the sides.

Tune in next week to see what else might go green!

Easter Island Style

Welcome to another edition of Tablescape Thursday
with our hostess Susan from Between Naps On The Porch

And I'm also joining the Rednesday party over at
It's A Very Cherry World for an unusual Easter tablescape.
This is NOT the usual pastels!

Not Easter Island .....

A table fit for Easter "island style."  Think sandy beach, warm
ocean breezes, swaying palms and an icy cocktail.

Acrylic green chargers, Rosenthal "Medallion" dinner plate, decorative salad plates
from Pier 1.  The divided fruit tray in the basket holder is from Target a couple of
years ago. It closely mimics some of the Post 86 Fiesta colors and the shape of the
vintage Fiesta divided relish tray, but is an imported look-a-like. Flatware and
napkins are from Home Goods, glassware and salt and pepper from Pier 1.

Fuzzy bunnies are from Pier 1.  Just toooo cute!

Tropical bird ceramic napkin rings came from eBay.

The colorful ceramic condiment tray also mimics some of the Fiesta colors, but
again is an import and not Fiesta.

These vintage nesting bowls are again not Fiesta.
Possibly Hall "Radiant" ware or Gaco look-alikes.

Wooden salad serving set is from South Africa.

Hand carved wooden pitcher and matching cups are from Jamaica,
the woven tray is from South Africa.

Striped candles were 2 for $1 from The Dollar Tree Store.
