ReplyDeleteWOW, those spiders have been busy! Great touch with all those webs everywhere! Did your black raven get a "hot bum"? I did the same thing with my tablescape this week (put my raven over a lit pillar candle) and my raven started "smoking", what a smell! Hope it didn't happen to you...your 'scape is too nice!

ReplyDeleteMarsha - the "bubbling brew" is just the spider webbing not pulled apart into long strands! I used to have one of those mist/fog makers, but they spew and dribble all over the place over time, so I resorted to this method.
The Jack-O-Lantern Fiesta is probably 10 years old, done on Persimmon which is now a discontinued color, but Homer Laughlin has brought back this "Happy Pumpkin" decal on the newer Tangerine color. You can find them on the HLC website www.hlchina.com then click on The Outlet link at the top right hand corner. Or just check ebay in the Contemporary Fiesta category and you'll come up with lots of pieces of the older Persimmon version with this decal.
"Smoking Birds" - Oh yes, Dining Delight, there should be a disclaimer posted on this tablescape. DO BE CAREFUL with all those spider webs, I had a fire extingquisher handy in case I made a really spooky scene come alive! And midway through my mad dash to take the pictures before I caught the house on fire, the crow literally jumped off the lantern onto the tabletop!! Fell head first with his poor little feet having partially melted onto the top of the lantern! Yes, birds were harmed in producing this film!! So now he's just a little more flat footed than he was when this tablescape began, LOL

ReplyDeleteA tip about this spider web stuff, don't use it if you don't want it everywhere! And feather dusters don't take care of it ...... it reminds me of the faux Easter grass or needles from a Christmas tree. I think it will most likely become a part of my holiday decor for many seasons to come, just by default. :-)
