Fiesta - It's Been Around for A Long Time

Prompted by a question from Julie, I thought I would post some info about the history of Fiesta colors since its introduction in 1936.  If you check out another one of my blogs,  "The Pottery Papers" ©,  you can see vintage ads from 1936 forward. I'll post a permanent link to this listing on the sidebar for reference.

  1. How interesting! Your blog is making me want to start collecting these dishes. I'm not sure if I am crazier more for the ads than the dishes. I love old ads.
    Thanks.

  3. Thanks Myrna! I've been careful not to be too preachy about my obsession with Fiesta....people start to roll their eyes and look at you funny! LOL

But, as questions come up, I'm more than happy to "share" a bit more about the history of this great AMERICAN made product.

  4. Karen - You NEED both don't you??? There I go again trying to be an "enabler." Just get a couple pieces .... but that's where it all begins. I'll have to put together a post about how that "one" piece turned into so many.

  6. Hi Julie -

I've had a few pieces of vintage from family since around '82, but didn't start collecting seriously until 1988. I have way too many dishes, have sold off probably an equal number, but I know LOTS of fellow dish buddies that have way more than I do!

I always say that I have enough dishes to open a medium sized restaurant and that is the honest truth!

I've just been reorganizing cabinets and will have some updated images of my collection(s) during the holiday season.
