Black and White and Marigold All Over

75th Anniversary Marigold

Homer Laughlin began making its iconic brand of Fiesta Dinnerware in 1936, 75 years ago. Fiesta was originally designed by Frederick Hurten Rhead; today it is the most collected brand of dinnerware. Made at the original historic factory in Newell, WV, Fiesta Dinnerware continues to top bridal registries as the must-have in everyday dinnerware. Truly a leader in the housewares category, Homer Laughlin is the largest and last remaining major dinnerware manufacturer in the United States.

Nasturtiums - Something Old and Something New

Vintage tablecloth from my collection.  More information on the

Both vintage and Post 86 Fiesta are represented here.  Turf green bowls and Yellow luncheon plates are vintage, while the Sunflower salad plate and Seamist dinner plate are contemporary Fiesta.  The glass chargers are Italian, the flatware is Gibson "Royal Rope."  Glassware in vintage depression glass. Napkins from battenburglace.com

Stratoware, designed by Eva Zeisel, is also represented here.  Eva Zeisel passed away recently,
for more information click HERE

Stratoware was a line of dinnerware created by Eva Zeisel
for Sears during 1941-1942. It is a limited line and very
difficult to find, although a lot of the covered casseroles
seem to show up.

Here are a couple of ads from vintage Sears catalogs
showing some of the pieces in the line.

Seamist prototype charger from the Fiestaware2000 line. This test piece where the verge is more pronounced than on the final design for this piece. Fiestware2000 was never glazed in Seamist, so it's a one of a kind item.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed your visit.
