This Week In My Garden: It's Intoxicating!

There are a couple of spectacular REDS this week for Rednesday over
at It's A Very Cherry World.

More Roses from my garden to share this week.  It is a glorious time when the first flush

arrives and now that it is about through, all of the roses are putting forth yet another burst

of new shiny growth in anticipation of a whole new crop of blooms.  My front garden smells like a flower shop.  I may just have to take a sleeping bag out there and spend the night.

Below is a little shrub rose called 'Happenstance'.  Long before I found this rose I had named my garden Happenstance Garden because I pretty much garden by the seat of my pants, with a general plan in mind, but no hard and fast "rules" about color or size of plant.  These roses are from the garden at the new house built in 2006, that would be Happenstance Garden II.  Some of these roses were moved from my old garden and some were bare root purchases planted in the Spring of 2007.

So here is 'Happenstance'

A no name, so pretty in pink. This ended up being a free rose, since the grower I ordered it from sent the wrong cultivar and couldn't ID it for me. (below)

This is a climber called 'Eden'  All roses were to be in the front garden!

So you can see that I break the few rules I make, this is in the back garden. (below)

You might want to put on your sun glasses for this next one.  This is the TRUE

color of this very bright rose.  'Kordes Brilliant' (below)

Grab your shades again quick! This is 'Voo Doo' (below)

'Tequila' has appeared before as a single and another overall shot, but this shows it in its full glory.  It holds it's blooms for a very long time and stands up well to the wind. (below)

And 'Butterscotch' which has also been seen before here on TLRT, but look at this mass of fading

butterscotch with new buds coming along to continue the cycle.  Yumm! (below)

And lastly for this week is this lovely lady who goes by the name "Miss Mauve" since she

was a freebie with no tag. (below)
