The North Woods - Tablescape Thursday

Tablescape Thursday is back, join all the revelers over at Between Naps On The Porch for Susan's weekly party!

The perfect holiday table for a gathering after cutting your tree or coming in from the hunt or even just a nice walk in the snowy woodland.  This vintage cloth has an off-white background with wonderful coppery colored deer and dark green birds.  Then there are also the palm trees, which don't really fit with the whole North Woods idea, but they work in this fantasy setting.

Juniper Fiestaware 2000 dinner plates, with Ivory Post 86 Fiesta luncheon plates, Shamrock salad plates and Cinnabar bowls.  The disc pitcher and relish tray are vintage Fiesta, while the gravy boat and small platter are Post 86 Cinnabar Fiesta.  The centerpiece tree came from Target's sale table a few years ago, deer napkin rings from eBay.  The little boot creamer was made by my maternal grandmother.  Flatware is vintage Dansk, glassware from Home Goods.

  3. I know I should be looking at your great tablescape, but I am so distracted by your beautiful home and tree!!!!!
Okay, focus... the table... I really love your tablecloth, and how you tied in the reindeer from that to the ones on your table and your napkin rings. Wonderfully done and you are right, perfect to come home to!

  12. I absolutely adore the tablecloth! One of my real weaknesses is vintage tablecloths. I love your dishes. I would love to find more Fiestaware. I have two yellow plates from eBay. MUST look for more. The bell tree is so cute. Wonderfully festive tablescape! Merry Christmas!

  15. Thanks for all the nice feedback on this tablescape! Love the tablecloth, it is such a departure from all my vintage cloths.

The bell tree came from the sale table at Target several years ago.....they had several, but the next day when I went back to get a second one...well you know how that goes. They were all gone, sigh.

Jeanette, of course you can come live with me....lots of dishes to play with and wash and put away too!

Thank you Yvonne! There are some additional images of the house buried over on my poor neglected garden blog. There's a link in the sidebar for Happenstance Garden. I'll get back to updating the garden blog after the holidays for those of you who are following it.

Kathryn - The little smoker has been around for many years, but I don't remember when or how I acquired him. He was also included in the last week or so in my Show and Tell post about "Summer Camp and My Nutcracker."

Mimi said, "This is my favorite table to date." LOL, that's what I say with each tablescape I do. I'm very fickle!

Thanks again ladies, I do appreciate your wonderful comments.
