Nesting Bowls

These are examples of currently available Fiesta nesting bowls.  The "Baking Bowls", not to be confused with the Fiesta "Mixing Bowls" released a number of years ago, is a nest of the three larger bowls shown below in the 75th Anniversary color Marigold.  The "Prep Bowls" are the two smaller bowls shown below.  These bowls are sold in sets of a single color, although some of the smaller retailers began selling mixed color sets at the request of their customers.
This is the nest of 5 bowls - 3 Baking Bowls and 2 Prep Bowls.
As usually happens with collectors, there was an almost immediate request to fill that empty space within the nest.  Below are some examples of mixed nests with the addition of a Jumbo Bowl (aka Chili Bowl).
Below is the Jumbo Bowl.
And below the addition of the now discontinued "Tripod Bowl" (must be supported by something or it sinks down inside the Jumbo Bowl) makes a complete set of 7 nesting bowls, which mimics the vintage nesting bowls.
And now a comparison of a vintage bowl nest with a Post86 nest.  Post86 refers to Fiesta that began production in 1986 after a period when Fiesta was not produced that lasted about 15 years.

Thanks for stopping by for a lesson on Fiesta nested mixing bowls.

  2. The post 86 is actually an improvement on design, as the overly tight nesting of the original Fiesta nested bowls, requires you to remove each bowl, small to large, one by one until you get to the one you need. Some retailers solved this by only selling the odds or the evens (which would allow "finger room" between them). Look at some of the old advertisements for this.
