Day Lilies and Friends

    Lovely. My cousin in north Georgia (outside of Chattanooga) has been cultivating lilies for the past 10 yrs. She has more than 75 varieties now. I must admit, lilies were not among my favorite flowers, but watching hers grow and bloom each year has made me a lover of all her lilies. She also has a special lily garden in memory of her sister who loved them so, but lost her battle to cancer. Your lilies remind me of such a sweet pair of cousins.

    I think day lilies are underappreciated, maybe because they are so common. I've learned to respect them, because even if you completely ignore them ...... they still bloom year after year with no complaining.
