  2. Very nice to put those lovely's in the gravy bowl...now, how do you keep them alive? I have bought many, put them in so many containers and always kill them... not enough water or too much... Very nice post!

  8. Your succulents are so pretty. Please give us your tips on how to keep them growing long term. I carefully picked out several succulents, a nice pot, and succulent/cactus potting soil. Made a really nice pot full of plants. They looked really good for a while, then started getting soft, then mushy, then kapoot, they died one by one. :(

  9. Until a couple of years ago, I didn't have much interest in succulents, then I was given one by my mother and it bloomed! I did not realize they had such lovely flowers. I have several different kinds now, and I really like them...even when they aren't in bloom.

Your pictures are wonderful. Pairing the silver with the succulents is beautiful! Very creative and they go well together.

  12. Thank you all for your positive thoughts and prayers as we try to rebuild the way we live in a healthier way.

Regarding succulents - they can live outside here, so that makes it a lot easier, as they can be rotated from inside to outside.

As far as growing them inside -

As much light as you can give them.
    Very little water
A very loose soil mix, with excellent drainage
A very weak solution of fish emulsion fertilizer every couple of months. (A commercial "cactus" mix works fine)
