Nasturtiums - Something Old and Something New

Vintage tablecloth from my collection.  More information on the

Both vintage and Post 86 Fiesta are represented here.  Turf green bowls and Yellow luncheon plates are vintage, while the Sunflower salad plate and Seamist dinner plate are contemporary Fiesta.  The glass chargers are Italian, the flatware is Gibson "Royal Rope."  Glassware in vintage depression glass. Napkins from battenburglace.com

Stratoware, designed by Eva Zeisel, is also represented here.  Eva Zeisel passed away recently,
for more information click HERE

Stratoware was a line of dinnerware created by Eva Zeisel
for Sears during 1941-1942. It is a limited line and very
difficult to find, although a lot of the covered casseroles
seem to show up.

Here are a couple of ads from vintage Sears catalogs
showing some of the pieces in the line.

Seamist prototype charger from the Fiestaware2000 line. This test piece where the verge is more pronounced than on the final design for this piece. Fiestware2000 was never glazed in Seamist, so it's a one of a kind item.

A Beautiful Life

A gift of tablecloths from Becky.
Reminders of a beautiful friend with a life too short.

These tablecloths from Becky's collection will
appear in future tablescapes here on TLRT.

They are all freshly washed and ironed, just waiting
for Becky to choose a favorite and take her place at the table.

Thank you sweet friend.

Doorknob Toss Game

A vintage Doorknob Toss Game in original box.

Excerpts from the "Knob Lore" booklet.

The Game:
Only official knobs are thrown at a sand filled tire, at a distance of 24' from the tire and there is a short length of 4" PVC pipe in the tire. The point of the game is to get the doorknobs in the pipe. The rules and scoring are the same as for horseshoes, the winner being the first to score 21 points.

HLC continues to make knobs in Fiesta glazes.  They are popular Go-Alongs for collectors, even though they can't be used as real doorknobs.  Mine live in the case with my Fiesta ornaments.

Summer Forecast

Slim pickings from the garden this week, but enough to
forecast a bright and colorful summer ahead.

The beautiful tablecloth was a gift from a friend this past
holiday season and it provides the perfect background for a touch of Periwinkle.
