Queen's Tears

A vigorous epiphyte from Brazil, Billbergia nutans is ideal for partially shady locations around the home or garden. The tough leaves have toothed edges, and flowers are borne on long stems. The striking pink bracts have blue and green blossoms and long yellow stamens. It usually blooms during March and April and the flowers last 6-8 weeks. Also called “Friendship Plant” because it produces many offshoots, or young plants, to give to friends. Water frequently in the growing season.
